El 9º Seminario Internacional de Jazz ofrece durante diez días de intensa actividad, un programa educativo dirigido a cualquier instrumentista, enfocado a la ejecución de los diferentes estilos del jazz, mediante clases de teoría y armonía contemporánea, conceptos y técnicas de improvisación, entrenamiento auditivo, arreglo, laboratorios de instrumento, clínicas, conferencias, ensambles y una Big Band que se integra cada año con los mejores ejecutantes del Seminario y que se presenta en concierto durante el Encuentro Internacional de Jazz.The 9th International Jazz Seminar offers during ten days an educational program aimed to any instrumentalist, focusing on the different styles of jazz performance, classes of jazz theory, harmony, contemporary concepts and techniques of improvisation, ear training, arranging, instrumental labs, clinics, lectures, ensembles and a Big Band that is put together with some of the best performers of the Seminar and performs in concert during the International Jazzfest.
El SIJ es impartido por músicos, docentes de algunas de las mas prestigiosas instituciones especializadas en le enseñansa y practica del jazz, como cada año, participan maestros del Berklee College of Music de Boston, de el Departamento de Jazz del Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico y este año también contamos por primera ves con la presencia del Centro de Jazz y Música Popular de la Universidad de KwaZulu-Natal de Sudáfrica.The IJS is taught by musicians, educators of some of the most prestigious institutions that specialize in jazz education, as every year, faculties of the famous Berklee College of Music, the Department of Jazz of the Conservatorio de Mùsica of Puerto Rico and this year we have for the first time the presence of the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Como cada año, todos los participantes son elegibles a obtener una de las beca de inscripción al SIJ ´09, que otorga la FUNDACIÓN JAZZFEST A.C. a los mejores participantes del SIJ, así mismo el Berklee College of Music, a través de su Departamento de Educación Continua, ofrecerá becas para los curso de su programa línea que se imparten a través de berkleemusic.comLike every year, all participants are eligible to obtain a tuition scholarship for the IJS´09, which is awarded by the FUNDACION JAZZFEST A.C. to the best performers of the Seminar, as well as the Berklee College of Music, through its Department for Continuing Education, will offer online scholarships for their programs that are taught online through berkleemusic.comEl SIJ es reconocido por la Asociación Internacional de Educadores de Jazz-Sección Latinoamérica y por la Red Nacional de Festivales de CONACULTA como único en su tipo, en México y es avalado curricularmente por el Departamento de Educación Continua de la Universidad Veracruzana CEC-064-08.The IJS is recognized by the International Association of Jazz Educators-Latin America section and by the Festivals National Network (CONACULTA) as unique in its kind in Mexico, the Department for Continuing Education at the University of Veracruz endorses this program.
