Una ves más el Jazzfest, durante el 9º Seminario & Encuentro Internacional de Jazz, reúne a algunos de los músicos más representativos de la escena del jazz en México y de el extranjero, Italia, Israel, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Sudáfrica y los Estados Unidos de América, estarán presentes por única ocasión en tres sedes en la ciudad de Xalapa: el Café Teatro Tierra Luna, el Auditorio del ISMEV y el Teatro del Estado. Este año el Jazzfest esta dedicado principalmente a la producción del jazz en nuestro país, con proyectos de músicos Mexicanos que rápidamente están logrando un lugar importante en la escena del jazz nacional e internacional, "Beto" Cobos guitarrista poblano egresado del BCM, tres jóvenes saxofonista, de las primeras generaciones que han estado en el Seminario Internacional de Jazz, Gerardo "Ferry" Lopez, Abel Mireles, Federico Hultz, además la participación del joven guitarrista Ilan Bar-lavi, quien recientemente firmo importante contrato con una disquera en New York, el ensamble Oaxaqueño Nunduva Yaa, que presenta un interesante proyecto de jazz fusión, el grupo Xalapeño Enlace band que se consolida como un de los proyectos locales mas frescos, y por supuesto la presencia de músicos de la talla de Enrique Nery, Iraida Noriega, Alejandro Campos, Aaron Cruz, Héctor Infanzón, así como el contrabajista Puerto Riqueño Ricky Rodríguez, todos ellos acompañados por músicos de la escena del jazz en nuestro país. Pero además la presencia de docentes, músicos como Marco Pignataro, Matt Marvuglio, Mageshen Naidoo, Carlomagno Araya, Rafael Alcalá, Víctor Mendoza, Bernardo Hernández, Angel Subero y Oscar Stagnaro, que imparten y comparten sus conocimientos y experiencias con todos los músicos que participan y nos visitan de diferentes partes de nuestro país. Nada de esto seria posible sin el apoyo, primero, de todos los participantes al Seminario que siguen creyendo en nuestra oferta educativa, como una alternativa innovadora y única en nuestro país, todos los artistas participantes al Encuentro que con su trabajo le han dado nombre y prestigio a este proyecto, al publico que cada año nos acompaña, los medios de comunicación que siempre han estado atentos a este evento, la iniciativa privada, organismos culturales, instituciones especializada en la enseñanza del jazz, y por supuesto las principales instituciones culturales de nuestro estado, la Universidad Veracruzana, el IVEC, la SEV y el Ayuntamiento de nuestra ciudad. Once again the 9th International Jazzfest, brings together some of the most representative musicians of the jazz scene in Mexico and abroad, Italy, Israel, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, South Africa and the United States of America, will present a unique opportunity in three locations in the city of Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico: Cafe Teatro Tierra Luna, the Auditorium of ISMEV and the Teatro del Estado. This year's Jazzfest is dedicated primarily to the production of jazz in our country, with projects Mexican musicians who are quickly making an important place in the jazz scene nationally and internationally, "Beto" Cobos guitar player, graduated from the Berklee College of Music, three young saxophonist , who have gone through the International Jazz Seminar, Gerardo "Gerry" Lopez, Abel Mireles, Federico Hultz, besides the participation of the young guitar player Ilan Bar-lavi, who recently signed with a major record company in New York, Oaxacan Nunduva Yaa ensemble, which presents an interesting fusion project, the Enlace band that has become one of the most fresh local projects, and of course the presence of musicians of the stature of Enrique Nery, Iraida Noriega, Alejandro Campos, Aaron Cruz, Hector Infanzón, as well as the Puerto Riqueño bass player Ricky Rodriguez, all of them accompanied by musicians from the jazz scene in our country. But besides the presence of faculties, musicians such as Marco Pignataro, Matt Marvuglio, Magesh Naidoo, Carlomagno Araya, Rafael Alcalá, Víctor Mendoza, Bernardo Hernández, Angel Subero and Oscar Stagnaro, who share their knowledge and experience with all the musicians that visit us from different parts of our country. None of this would be possible without the support, first of all the participants to the seminar that still believe in our educational offer, unique in its type in our country, all participating artists whose work have given name and prestige to this project, the public that each year is with us, the media who have always been support to this project, private enterprise, cultural and educational institutions, and of course the major cultural institutions of our state, the University of Veracruz, the IVEC, the SEV and the Mayor of our city.
